Fall Crafts To Do With The Kids Part 2

Poems, Leaves, and Candy Corn

I love poems!
And I think they're great additions to crafts!
Years down the road the kids will find the craft, read the poem, and remember the fun they had and MAYBE, just maybe they'll pass that joy along to someone else!

Below are a couple things I did this year.
I've done the leaf poem before but I found the candy corn ones one Pinterest.
Is that anyone elses go to???

Leaf Poem:
Very simple!
All you need is the poem (pasted below), paper, glue, string, and leaves to decorate. Let the kids do the rest themselves.
To change it up, frame the little guy or make it into cards, or notes for your pumpkin loaf!

Come, Little Leaves
By George Cooper

“Come, little leaves,” said the wind one day.
“Come over the meadows with me and play;
Put on your dresses of red and gold,
For summer is gone and the days grow cold.”

Soon as the leaves heard the wind’s loud call,
Down they came fluttering, one and all;
Over the brown fields they danced and flew,
Singing the sweet little songs they knew.

“Cricket good-by, we’ve been friends so long,
Little brook, sing us your farewell song;
Say you are sorry to see us go;
Ah, you will miss us, right well we know.”

Dancing and whirling, the little leaves went,
Winter had called them, and they were content;
Soon, fast asleep in their earthly beds,
The snow laid a coverlid over their heads.

 Candy Corn:
Again, it's simple!
All you need is the poem(s), scissors, glue, string, and construction paper; white, orange, yellow, a solid color for the back, I used black.
Agian, you could easily make this into a framed piece, card, or gift for a friend.

Trinity

Just like the
3 colors in
the candy corn I see.

There are 3 persons in the Holy Trinity
God the Father
God the son, Jesus
God the Holy Spirit

All 3 are God,
Yet together
They are One.

There are two different poems because I love them both!

WHITE is for our Sins
That Jesus washed away

ORANGE is for new hope
The Lord gives us each day

YELLOW is for His wisdom
And words so sweet

Please check back in next week for another post with ideas.
