 Here are my entries to the Santa Cruz County Fair! I was able to complete a crocheted afghan and  a pair of cowboy boots!! I think they're pretty cute but  we'll see what the judge(s) say on Wednesday! I won't find out until September but I'll write a post and let you all know as soon as I do!!

Green Rose napkins are named after the green roses that my Grandmother had planted in her backyard. She had taken a start from a friend's home and like she could do with any plant; she had it growing and thriving in no time!! This material does have green flowers that remind me of those roses.

Preemie Hats

There has been a new baby come into our lives. 

She was early but thank the Lord, she's doing okay. 

I hadn't made anything yet for little sweet heart...

My Mom and I went shopping for preemie clothes last week. 

They are difficult to find! 

Carter's has a nice selection of little outfits! 

My Mom bought this adorable little "Sweat heart" outfit!  

I crocheted a hat to go with it...

 I also crocheted this little yellow hat with the white flower...

Wedding Shower Gift

A Handmade Gift To Go With The Registry Items...

I got to go to a lovely bridal shower on Saturday!!! 

When I go to a shower I love to make a gift to go with items that are on the bride and groom's registry!  

 The registry included the cookie scoop and these kitchen towels. 

I used the towels for color ideas for the hot pads.

One of my favorite things to make are hot pads!!

I crocheted one pot holder handle too. 

These are handy if you like to use cast iron cook ware. 

So, this is a really fun, personal gift I enjoy making!!

Organizing Yarn!!

The Yarn Registry...

I have struggled with organizing my yarn for a long time. 

I like to roll the skeins into "balls" because it unwinds better while I'm crocheting or knitting. 

The problem with this is that I then forget what wrapper goes with which "ball of yarn"...so I've been thinking on the best way to organize the yarn...

Last week I did some major reorganizing of my craft area and bedroom. 

The yarn drawer became a yarn "tub"!! (I LOVE buying yarn on sale!!) 

While in the process of cleaning and going through things I found all the yarn wrappers I'd been saving...it was time to do something with all of them!! 

I decided to create a yarn registry! 

So far, it's been really helpful and fun with all the pen colors! 

I like to write what I made with the yarn and where I purchased it, for future reference...dates are fun too!

 When I buy a skein of yarn, I now registry it before using it. 

This gives me the dye lot, store, washing instructions, needle/crochet hook sizes, what I used it for, etc. 

SO HANDY!!!

I named this blanket after the dazzling colors it displays!

Like watching the sun set over the world; this blanket changes from vibrant reds, golds, and oranges to deep blues, greens, and purples. 

 

Sunset is a lap blanket measuring 58 inches long and 39 inches wide.

It's the perfect accessory to any living room chair or coach. Children would also like it's delightful colors and gentle, soft texture as they snuggle in for a nap.

It is crocheted from Lion Brand's Homespun collection.

98% acrylic yarn and 2% polyester
