Sewing A Sash

                     Sewing A Sash

I have a cousin whose getting married in the fall and we are all so excited for her! I sewed her a sash that says "Soon To Be Mrs. ...." , for the sake of privacy, I'm not telling my cousin's future last name.

I cut the sash out of an old white dress....
You can make it any length you want, depending on the individual. Angling the ends works best.
I sewed the sides together and the two ends. Then I pinned where I wanted the writing to go...
Keep in mind, if you decide to make one, you need to be able to read the sash from left to write as you look at it....and ta-dah! Here is the finished product! Later I used fabric paints to do the writing.

Reversible Picnic Table Quilt

Sewing A Reversible  Picnic Table Quilt

I recently went to one of our local sewing shops and had a wonderful time looking over everything! I found a cute pattern for a reversible picnic table quilt and decided to make it as a gift. After getting home and thoroughly reading through the pattern; as I should have done in the store; I discovered I'd bit off more than I could chew, I mean sew! With Mom's help, lots of prayer, and hard work I completed it before my Dad's birthday and he enjoyed using it on our recent get away!

The pattern and the main body fabric.

Sewing the corners to the edging and enjoying a cup of coffee!!
Pinning the trim and corners to the table cloth.

Completed, folded, and ready to wrap!
In use at camp on the table!

The Heart's Garden

                 The Heart's Garden

The heart is a garden
Where thought flowers grow
The thoughts that we think
Are the thoughts that we sow

Every kind, loving thought
Bears a kind, loving deed,
While a thought that is selfish
Is just like a weed.

We must watch what we think
Each minute, all day;
And pull out the weed thoughts
And throw them away.

And pleasant, loving seed thoughts
So thick in a row
That there will be no room
For weed thoughts to grow
