Sour Dough Starter
Part 1
Recently, I was given a sour dough starter from a very special lady in my life!!
I am enjoying this easy bread jewel a lot!
Here is the first part of my journey:
Starter just coming out of the refrigerator in the morning before I remove the 1/2 cup of "starter" and "feed" it.
The new starter is removed (the 1/2 cup) and is ready to be given to someone who would also like to try their hand at it!
Also, the flour and water have been "fed" to the original starter!
After 4-6 hours of the dough "sitting" it is time to add the rest of the goddies and begin to bake!!
(You remove only 1 cup of the starter to make the bread.)
It's rising in the oven!
Later I discovered it could rise just as well on the counter with a towel over it...
On the second rise!
The loaves are now "formed"; (I still need to practice!); and ready to grow. Again, I found I could leave them on the counter with a towel covering them and they rise just as well!
Let the baking begin!!
Ready to eat!!! Yummy!!!
My family enjoyed the bread and are willing to try my next batch: garlic sour dough!
I'll let you all know how that goes!
