St Patrick's Day Party Ideas

St. Patrick's Day Party!!

Hello All!
I don't know what your plans for St. Patrick's Day are but here's what I did for my party!
Feel free to use any or all ideas!!

I wanted to focus mostly on St. Patrick!
So I did some research and wrote up a short bio which will be posted on the 16th/17th.
Check back then for it, thanks!

In the midst of reading I learned how Patrick taught the Irish about the Trinity by using the Shamrock, so I made a Shamrock garland and had my crafts center around the Shamrock.

the garland and info on Patrick

Because rainbows, gold, etc. are a part of St. Patrick's day I made this Create  paper rainbow and had a "pot of gold" game.
the rainbow

suggestion: use tissue paper for the clouds!

The rainbow was more difficult than I had expected but the kids liked it!
And the pot of gold game was a hit!! They played that for a while!! Too cute!! Of course there were prizes!!
What's a game without prizes??!!?

Place settings were yellow, to contrast the cute green and white shamrock tablecloth my mom let me borrow. (Thanks Mom!!)

I also crocheted shamrock necklaces and rainbow bracelets for the girls. They loved them!!
The brown paper bags were decorated by hand with sharpies to hold their prizes and goodies!!

For snack we had cheese sticks, green grapes, and cake mix cookies with green sprinkles.
To help set the mood I played some instrumental Celtic music.
I love to listen to it!!

Here is our game!
The object was to stand a certain distance away and try to toss the "coins" in. They loved it!!
Do you see the rainbow on the bucket??

For the craft I took a sheet of green paper, folded it half and then half again; making quarters.  I traced a shamrock on it and cut them out: four adorable shamrocks!!
Typing up this poem (below) by Patrick I printed it, cut it out, and glued it on.

I sing as I arise today
I call upon my Father’s might
The will of God to be my guide
The eye of God to be my sight
The word of God to be my speech
The hand of God to be my stay
The shield of God to be my strength
The path of God to light my way.
Patrick of Ireland

Punching a hole and stringing green yarn through it; it was complete!! But wait!
Here are these adorable shamrock stencils or maybe window decor?? So to my craft stash I went and found some thin green paper and cut it to fit behind the shamrock, glued it on, punched a whole, strung it on and yes, a cute shamrock light catcher!! Sweet!!

I hope you all have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!
