Pink and Brown Hats

Pink and Brown Hat

I crocheted these pink and brown hats.
They are pretty cute!

This was a commissioned project.
I made two hats so that my client could choose which one she liked but she wants to buy both!

But I thought you'd like to see the latest crochet project.

See something here that you'd like to buy? Let me know!

Mini Pear Pies

Mini Pear Pies

Today I made these mini pear pies for my family and they loved them!

So, I decided to blog about it, seeing as how it's pear season!

You start off by making the crust:

1 cube of butter, 1/2 cup
1 cup of flower
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp water

Mix together, roll out, and cut into rounds. I used a round cup. Just remember to cut out an even amount so you have as many "bottoms" as "tops" for your pies.

Then you prep the pears. Pick about 4-6 ripe pears.

Peel, core, and slice them. Season them with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup oatmeal.

Spoon onto the "bottoms" of the mini pies on the greased cookie sheets.

Place the pear filling in the center with room around the edge to connect the "tops". Place a small pad of butter between the pear filling and top pie crust. Seal with your fingers.
Bake for about 30 min at 350 degrees or until golden brown.

Enjoy!

They are delicious with a bowl of ice cream!!

Picnic Set

Picnic Set

My Mom and I came up with this fun idea as a wedding present for my cousin and her husband!
They are taking it with them on their honeymoon and they will be able to make many more memories with it in years to come!

I sewed a double sided picnic table, napkins, and place  mats with silverware pockets.
My cousin's wedding colors were navy blue and yellow with Daisy's as the flower.
So here was the selected material:

The materials all ready to go!

Daisy print for one side of the table cloth.

The print for the other side of the table cloth.

Pretty ribbon for the place mats.

Pocket and napkin color

Pocket, binding, and place mat material.
Daisy Button Decoration!
The place mats were done with the navy blue material and the ribbon and buttons.
Inside the rolled up place mat, the silverware are kept clean and ready for use!

Place mat pieces ready to sew!

The place mat rolled up.

Pretty bow and button.

Showing the pocket with silver ware.

The table cloth, as before mentioned is double sided and has pockets to put the painted rocks in to keep it from blowing away.

Daisy side being sewn.

Both sides!

Painted rocks as weights.
To top it off the basket was decorated with a hand painted daisy on top and a place mat on the bottom for easy mess clean up.

The top of the basket.

Hand painted Daisy decoration!

Empty basket...

Ready for the place mat...

And here it is!
We filled the basket with the handmade items as well as coffee mugs, VIA Coffee, Cheetos, cups, Martinelli's, wet wipes, coffee creamer, etc.

This gift was a LOT of fun to make and think up things to put in it!
I hope it is a blessing to the happily married couple!!
 Congrats Tracy and Anthony!

Sea Shell Hair Clips

Sea Shell Hair Clips

I've seen several postings by other bloggers on making these adorable hair clips!
So I HAD to try it!!

It was fun and easy too!

You just pick out sea shells that are small to medium in size, paint them with nail polish, and hot glue them onto the bobby pins!

I think they turned out pretty cute!

I would appreciate some feed back about on the colors! Thanks!!
This is the same nail polish above and below, it just turns pink in the sun! SO FUN!!

This is a pretty, sparkly light pink!
