Happy Easter!

In my family we have special traditions for Easter. One of them is to "color" calla lilies! My grandmother taught me how to do this when I was a little girl. She would grate chalk into a very fine powder then take the chalk in her finger and rub it up against the white petal, turning the calla lily into a lovely color! They make a beautiful and unique centerpiece for your Easter table! Enjoy!!

We also like to color Easter eggs!                                                      Even though I'm an "adult" I enjoy coloring the eggs and it brings back/makes wonderful memories!

Another tradition is to open these twelve eggs below and read the verse that goes along with each.
"Celebrating God's Gift of Love" by Sharing The Message of Easter

Each one of these eggs contains an object, a 'stone of rememberance'. These, in combination with their corresponding pasage of Scripture, enable you to "Share the Messafe of Easter"

                                                                     Egg #1 The Coin
When Jesus was betrayed, Judas was given 30 pieces of coin.
                                              (Read: Matthew 26:14-16 & Mark 14:10-11)

                                                                  Egg #2 The Bread

                                                                   Egg #5 The Thorn
They crowned Jesus with thorns. (Read Matthew 27:27-31 & Mark 15:16-18)

                                                                   Egg #6 The Cross
Jesus (& Simon) were made to carry His cross. (Read Matthew 27:31-32 & Mark 15:20-21)

                                                                     Egg #7 The Nail
They nailed Jesus to the cross. (Read Matthew 27:35 & Mark 15:24)

                                                                       Egg #8 The Scroll
They placed a scroll on the cross. It read: "King of the Jews". (Read Matthew 27:37 & Mark 15:25-26)

                                                               Egg #9 The Sponge
They gave Him vinegar to drink. (Read Matthew 27:45-50 & Mark 15:36-37)

Good Friday

"He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid upon Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before the shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth."     Isaiah 53:3-7

My Latest Crocheting Adventure!

I decided I wanted to learn a new skill and since a "friend" has ordered several baby boot and hat sets, now was the perfect time! So I searched on Pinterest and found some really cute ideas!

(By the way, you can follow me on Twitter, @KVKreations, where I've tweeted the patterns.)

                                                                     Cowboy Boot

The boot is crocheted and I made one because it was a practice run but I think it turned out pretty cute!

                                                                        Cowboy Hat

The color of this hat is not "ideal" but again, it was a practice run and with a little work and refining it would make an adorable gift/photo prop!

It took me a couple hours to make the cowboy boots and a little while longer than that to make the hat. As I keep practicing I'll hopefully become more efficient and it will take me less time to produce a quality product!

Welcome to Kierstyn's Kreations!

         Welcome to Kierstyn's Kreations!

On this blog I will write about my crafting enterprise on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/shop/KierstynsKreations?ref=si_shop  and the the stories behind the photos I take and post on items on Cafe Press http://www.cafepress.com/KaysKreations1.

Example:

These adorable Mary Jane's are for sale in my Etsy shop for  $15 and there is a hat that matches!
I crocheted a pair of these for a friend for the baby she is expecting and they were a favorite at the shower!

This photo is called Dragon Tree on my Cafe Press shop. It was taken in the rolling hills of northern California when the sun was setting and the moon was rising on a lovely, April evening!

I hope you visit my blog often and find interesting posts that encourage you to see the beauty God surrounds us with on a daily basis and the wonderful ways He inspires us!
